Your privacy choices

Two things on this website measure a visit. This page explains both and lets you turn them off, here, with one button.

Our own visit measurement

When you visit, this site stores a random identifier in your browser’s own storage (not a cookie) and sends our server which pages you viewed, which button you pressed, the campaign parameters on the link that brought you, and the name of the site you came from. It never sends your IP address for storage, the full address of the page you came from, or anything you typed. If you later open an account, that identifier lets us connect the account to the campaign that brought you.

Advertising measurement by OpenAI

When we advertise in ChatGPT, OpenAI’s measurement script runs on our landing pages. It sets a cookie named __oppref that identifies the ad you clicked, and it tells OpenAI that the page was viewed and that a sample was played. When you send us your email address from one of those pages, our server reports that to OpenAI as a hashed value so the ad can be credited. Under California law this can count as “sharing” personal information for advertising, which is why this page exists.

Do not sell or share my information

Pressing the button below stops both: no identifier is stored, nothing is sent to our server about your visit, and OpenAI’s script is never loaded on any page of this site in this browser. The choice is kept in this browser only, so make it again on another device or after clearing site data. Plausible, our cookieless page-view counter, is unaffected: it stores no personal data and is not a sale or a share.

The full account of what we collect and why is in the privacy policy. Questions go to the address on the contact page.
