With your own Twilio account, your carrier bills its numbers and carrier minutes directly, with no Vocapable carrier markup. Vocapable does not charge managed-number rental or managed carrier rates for those BYO numbers; your subscription and AI usage beyond its included allowance still apply. Outbound plans also charge their published attempt fee. Accepted legacy contracts retain their original terms.

With BYO routing, you compose what happens as an ordered chain of steps, one chain for your open hours and one for everything else, built from a keypress menu, ringing your own people, the AI agent, voicemail, a spoken message, or a forward to a number you configured. Open hours and holiday dates are in your own timezone.

Only the connected AI step claims a simultaneous AI slot and consumes conversational AI time. Menus, rings, forwards and prerecorded messages outside that step add no conversational AI minutes; their carrier time still follows the applicable phone tariff.

New standalone Receptionist tiers have company limits on shared fleet capacity, not dedicated hardware. When the company limit or available AI capacity is busy, a caller follows the supported waiting or fallback path you configured. Outbound and accepted legacy contracts retain their own separately stated limits.

The managed-number offer covers an AI receptionist, a bounded waiting queue with position announcements and optional hold music, standard closed-hours and fallback messages, optional consented voicemail, and an optional transfer to one eligible US telephone destination.
