Bland or Vocapable for a small outbound calling pilot?

A lower usage bill only helps if the calling window still works.

On narrow screens, comparison tables scroll sideways to show every column.

For a small customer-feedback or permitted sales-follow-up pilot, Vocapable Outbound Launch can have a lower published AI-and-attempt subtotal than Bland Start. That is useful when one call at a time is enough. Bland Start includes more concurrent calls, which can make it the better fit when your list must fit a short calling window. Price and throughput should be evaluated together.

This first-party guide is published by Vocapable. Bland prices were checked on October 16, 2026; Vocapable’s new-order prices were updated on October 21. Earlier accepted Vocapable offers retain their original rates. The workload examples are hypothetical, not completed campaigns. Use the full Bland comparison for the broader rate table.

What the entry offers charge

Bland’s pricing lists Start with no monthly base and $0.14/minute, including speech recognition, voice and model usage; telephony is separate. Start lists 10 concurrent calls, 100 calls/day and 100 calls/hour. Build is $299/month plus $0.12/minute with higher limits. Confirm which account limits apply to your planned attempts.

Bland supports customer telephony. Its FAQ says customers using their own Twilio or SIP do not pay Bland transfer fees; do not add a supplier transfer charge that would not apply to the selected phone arrangement.

New Vocapable Launch enrollments are $0/month, $0.05/AI minute and $0.005/attempt, plus your Twilio charges. It has one concurrent call, a ten-minute per-call maximum, a 30-second connected-call billing minimum, and monthly ceilings of 10,000 AI minutes and 10,000 attempts. Prepaid funding, company agreements, contact permissions and call checks apply.

A monthly cost example is not a one-day capacity promise

Assume 1,000 billable AI minutes distributed across a month, with no optional services or transfer charges and with each product’s billing rules already applied. Both examples still need their actual carrier and number charges.

Illustrative monthBland Start AI subtotalVocapable Launch AI and attempt subtotal
1,000 AI minutes; 1,000 attempts$140$55: $50 AI + $5 attempts
1,000 AI minutes; 3,000 attempts$140, before any other applicable charges$65: $50 AI + $15 attempts

The second row deliberately holds AI minutes constant while adding attempts. It exposes Vocapable’s attempt line rather than hiding unanswered work behind a per-minute headline. It does not establish what every unsuccessful or minimum-length Bland call costs; confirm its applicable billing definitions. Fit both the daily limits and the actual call durations before using either estimate as a budget.

Can the list fit the time you have?

Suppose 60 answered conversations each take three minutes of session capacity. They require 180 conversation-minutes. On one concurrent session, the theoretical minimum is three hours, before dialing, ringing, gaps and retries. A two-hour window is therefore impossible on that single session under these assumptions, regardless of how inexpensive its minutes are.

Ten concurrent sessions would reduce that simple lower bound to 18 minutes if calls could be perfectly packed. That is arithmetic, not a prediction of Bland campaign completion. Answer patterns, ringing, rate limits and permitted calling windows change the result. Concurrency is a ceiling, not a promise that every line stays busy.

For a small pilot that can run gradually, one session may be perfectly adequate. For a time-sensitive notification or a large day’s list, evaluate actual throughput and a suitable plan before choosing Launch. Avoid using longer conversations or unnecessary retries merely to increase usage; the goal is a useful response.

Compare the operating record as well as the conversation

Give each vendor the same approved business information and permitted test contacts. Review an opt-out, an unanswered attempt, a deferred request and a human handoff. Decide which team member acts on each response and what evidence they can inspect later.

Vocapable offers named business workflows and records around attempts and applied controls. We do not claim Bland lacks workflow tools or that a pricing table demonstrates better voice quality. Your company remains responsible for permission to call and the policy appropriate to its contacts.

Read the outbound cost guide and Vapi pilot comparison before selecting a budget. For an initial conversation preview, try the two-minute receptionist preview. Verify your email and use the browser; no Twilio account, phone number or payment card is needed for the preview. It does not place outbound calls or qualify a campaign for production.
