Vapi or Vocapable for your first sales-calling pilot?
Price the complete voice stack and the work after each call.

For a small sales team, the first question is what should be known after a call: whether the contact wants a conversation, the relevant need and who owns the next step. Vocapable is a practical candidate when you want a defined business workflow and a published AI charge. Vapi is a strong candidate when your team wants to choose and operate a configurable voice stack. Some Vapi configurations can be cheaper.
Vocapable publishes this guide. Vapi prices were checked on October 16, 2026; Vocapable’s new-order prices were updated on October 21. Earlier accepted Vocapable offers retain their original rates. Nothing here measures voice quality, conversion or engineering hours. The Vapi comparison contains the wider component table.
Five cents is the hosting component
Vapi’s pricing lists $0.05/minute hosting plus transcription, language-model and voice providers. Its displayed component ranges produce roughly $0.0818–$0.1289/minute before transport and other charges. These are illustrative choices, not the minimum and maximum of every possible configuration.
Usage-only has no monthly base, four concurrent calls and introductory credits. Core is an optional $29/month package with more included capacity. Do not add Core to every estimate as though it were required. Supplying provider keys can move provider billing to your own accounts; it does not make those services free.
New Vocapable Outbound Launch enrollments have no monthly platform fee: $0.05/AI minute plus $0.005/outbound attempt, with your own verified Twilio account and its charges separate. It requires prepaid credit and permits one simultaneous call, a ten-minute call maximum, a 30-second billing minimum per connected call, and monthly limits of 10,000 minutes and 10,000 attempts.
A fair pilot budget leaves room for either result
Use an illustrative month with 1,000 billable AI minutes and 1,000 attempts. Count listening, waits and applicable per-call minimums rather than substituting speech time.
| Cost category | Vapi illustration | Vocapable Outbound Launch |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting and selected AI providers | About $81.80–$128.90 from the displayed component ranges | $50 AI usage |
| Explicit Vocapable attempt charge | Not a Vapi billing line assumed by this table | $5 |
| Monthly platform base in this example | $0 usage-only | $0 |
| Phone service and other applicable charges | Add actual selected transport and fees | Add actual Twilio usage and number rental |
| Simultaneous calls at the entry offer | 4 | 1 |
Vocapable’s subtotal is $55 before Twilio. That is below the displayed Vapi component illustrations. Add the actual phone service to both. The table does not prove that either has the lowest total cost or that different provider choices produce equivalent conversations.
If reaching the list in a narrow time window requires several simultaneous calls, a one-session Launch plan may not fit even when its usage bill looks attractive. Compare the Bland throughput guide for a capacity example.
Decide who owns the operating work
For a pilot involving contacts your company is permitted to call, write down five outcomes before configuring a voice:
- What fact qualifies a response for human follow-up? Avoid treating any positive phrase as proof of a qualified opportunity.
- Which approved product information can the agent use, and where must it defer?
- How does an opt-out stop later attempts, and who reviews uncertain cases?
- What happens when the intended human is unavailable?
- Where does the team read the response and record the next action?
Vapi gives a technical team choices over providers and application behavior. That flexibility has value. Vocapable starts with named sales, workforce and feedback workflows, reviewable outcomes and attempt evidence. A buyer still needs to configure its own business rules and staff follow-up; we do not claim that Vapi cannot implement similar behavior.
Choose the smallest pilot that can answer your question
We would evaluate Vocapable when one concurrent call is enough and your team values the published AI-plus-attempt structure and existing business workspace. We would keep Vapi ahead when provider control, custom application work or its entry concurrency is essential. Ask both to demonstrate the same failure and handoff cases before comparing their answers.
Use the outbound planning guide and cost-category checklist to scope live calling. You can separately try Vocapable’s two-minute receptionist preview. After email verification, that browser preview needs no Twilio account, phone number or payment card. It previews incoming conversation behavior; it is not an outbound campaign or live-call approval.
